The series premiered on FX and Hulu and features Corrin as Darby, a detective working to ensure that she can solve a murder before the killer can strike again. The show was created by the creators of Netflix's hit show The OA. Season 1 is set to conclude with episode 7, "Retreat", on December 19.

What Are A Murder At The End Of The World's Renewal Chances?

A Murder at the End of the World has not yet received a season 2 renewal, but that does not mean that the show is completely without hope. Season 1 is not over yet, so there is still time for creators Britt Marling and Zal Batmanglij to meet with studios to determine if a season 2 is a possibility. If the season finale proves to draw massive numbers, as expected, a season 2 is even more likely.

A Murder at the End of the World is filled with Easter eggs to Marling and Batmanglij's other major project, The OA.

There is good reason to be confident in End of the World earning positive ratings. The murder mystery is already a hit for Hulu, having earned a slot on the Reelgood Top 10 streaming list for weeks. It was likely to be successful from the beginning, given the success of The OA, but the unique perspective of the Gen Z amateur detective tackling a real murder helped draw attention to the show.

Bill's message in A Murder at the End of the World episode 6 might have given away a major clue that solves the show's overarching murder mystery.

The show has also received high ratings from critics and audiences. It has an 89 percent score on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer and a 94 percent audience score at the time of writing. With such positive critical reactions, a season 2 renewal seems to be an easy decision, but Hulu and FX will likely spend time considering their own data before putting in the final order. Regardless of their decision, Emma Corrin would be happy to return for A Murder at the End of the World season 2.
